Senior Data Engineer with MS Fabric knowledge
Our client is seeking a qualified consultant with extensive expertise in Microsoft Fabric, data governance, and change management to assist in establishing suitable data management governance and implementing Fabric as our new data platform. This initiative involves implementing robust data governance frameworks, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization, and migrating the client’s existing on-premises data warehouse to Fabric — with the aim to enhance data-driven decision-making, improve collaboration, and meet increasing compliance and reporting demands.
The company has its headquarters in Norway and operates within Oil&Gas.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist in migrating the existing on-premises data warehouse to Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop ETL processes and data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data into Fabric. Optimize data flows and leverage prebuilt connectors in Fabric.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the migration process.
- Optimize data loading and processing performance to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with Odfjell resources on the overall Fabric architecture.
Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience in data engineering and data migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data manipulation languages
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric data integration tools
- Familiarity with data warehousing best practices and ETL processes.
- At least 5 years of experience delivering data projects.
- Good understanding of DWH architecture and some experience with a modern data platform.
- Motivated to continuously update your technical skills, as we work in a rapidly evolving industry.
- English: Upper-Intermediate
